Boating
 
Boating in the state of Tennessee is under the control of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). If you were born after January 1, 1989 you must successfully complete a boating safety education course and carry your boating safety education certificate.

Fishing
 
A fishing license is required. The license is valid from February 18th and expires February 28th of the following year. Fishing licenses are available from various outlets including online. A lifetime Sportman's license is also available but not online. You can download the application from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) and mail it.
