Boating Boaters can find boat ramps all along this lake, including Tims Ford State Park, the Anderton Branch Public Use Area, and Pleasant Grover Public Use Area. A full-service marina provides all the amenities any boater might need, including boat and cabin rentals and a restaurant. The arms of this lake are popular among canoeists and kayakers. |
Lodging Tims Ford State Park is located on the north shores of the lake, and provides campers with 52 camp sites with water and electricity. This campground also can accommodate 40-foot RVs, and some sites are set aside for handicap-accessible camping. This is not the only campground in the area, and visitors also can find other accommodations throughout Franklin County. Communities Tims Ford Lake is located almost entirely within Franklin County, Tennessee, with two small branches that reach into Moore County to the northwest. The lake is located about 80 miles from Chattanooga and only 50 miles from Huntsville, Alabama. Other towns in the area include Winchester, Decherd, Huntland, Estill Springs, Cowan, and Sewanee. |
