Melton Hill Lake Located on the Clinch River, Melton Hill Lake -- also known as Melton Hill Reservoir -- stretches almost 57 miles upstream along the Clinch from the Melton Hill Dam to Norris Dam. This reservoir is not used for flood control, unlike other Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) reservoirs. Boating Boaters can gain access to Melton Hill Lake a boat ramp located above the Melton Hill Dam. Other ramps are located at Hickory Creek Park, Bull Run Creek Park, and at Lost Bottom Park, among other sites. One marina, located off Solway Ferry Road south of the Solway Park Boat Ramp, offers amenities to visitors and anglers. As one of the top regatta venues in the nation, the Oak Ridge Rowing Association makes this lake its home and hosts National Championship regattas as well as providing "Learn-to-Row, Adult (Master) and Youth (Junior)" lessons and programs. |

If you'd prefer to stay at a state park, Frozen Head State Park is lcoated about 32 miles north, providing twenty rustic camp sites and eleven backcountry sites.
