Indian Lake Located in western Ohio on State Road 235N in Lakeview, Indian Lake is approximately 20 mi southeast of Lima and only 30 miles from Grand Lake St. Marys. Indian Lake was built in 1851 as a feeder lake for the Miami and Erie Canal. It covers over 5,800 acres with a 29 mi shoreline. In 1949, Indian Lake became part of the newly-created Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation. Today, Indian Lake is known for its year-round water-activities which include boating, fishing, water skiing, camping, ice fishing and snow mobile riding. Fishing Saugeye fingerlings are stocked annually by the Division of Wildlife. Gizzard shad is the main forage species. Several major fishing tournaments are held each year at Indian Lake with local bass clubs holding weekly contests. Fishing Enthusiasts from miles around travel to Indian Lake to participate in these tournaments. |

Boating The 5,800-acre lake offers unlimited horsepower boating and features four boat ramps and boat docks for rental. Indian Lake is the only inland lake in Ohio with lighted buoys for night navigation. A beach, boat ramp and boat docks are available exclusively for those staying in their campers. |
Lodging
There are 443 family campsites suitable for tents or trailers on the northwest section of the lakeshore .A limited number of pet camping sites are available. The park's group camp area may be reserved by advanced registration. Indian Lake offers 2wo equipped camper cabins are available to rent. One unit sleeps six and one sleeps four.
