Taylorsville Lake
Located mainly in Spencer County, Taylorsville Lake's 3,050 acres also spill into Nelson and Anderson counties. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers constructed this lake beginning in 1974 by building a dam on the Salt River, and impounding began in 1983. The lake today is a major recreational destination for residents and tourists who visit Taylorsville, located just 25 miles south of Louisville.

Boating Taylorsville Lake Marina offers gas pumps, bait shop, skiing, tubing, boating and fishing supplies and a full service deli. They provide Pontoon, Run-about and Fishing Boat rentals. Taylorsville Lake welcomes water skiers, who can enjoy a course on the lake. Other water sports include wakeboarding, jet skiing, and tubing.

Lodging The State Park has 1,200-acre of the most beautiful country. It offers 45 RV sites with electric & water hook-ups, 10 equestrian sites with electric & water hook-ups, & 15 primitive tent sites with water available. Playgrounds conveniently located for children & two bathhouses with laundry facilities in each. A dump station is available for RV use.
