Brookville Lake Brookville Lake, nestled in the heart of Indiana's Whitewater River Valley, provides 5,260 acres of recreational waters. Among the many recreational areas around Brookville Lake, there are two large campgrounds for tenting and picnicking, four marinas for boating and fishing sales and service, eight boat ramps for easy access to the lake and two swimming beaches for relaxing and sunbathing. Known as one of the most beautiful and historically significant areas in Indiana, Brookville Lake is home to Whitewater Memorial State Park. This living memorial to WW II Veterans offers campgrounds, cabins, swimming beaches, boating and hiking trails in the beautiful, natural setting of the northeast corner of Brookville Lake. Fishing The Lake is an angler's paradise with excellent summer and winter fishing opportunities. For a number of years, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources has been stocking Brookville Lake with walleye, muskie and striped bass. The tail water area is stocked annually with brown and rainbow trout. Brookville Lake is also populated by naturally-reproducing, fresh water fish including like large and smallmouth bass, rock bass, white bass, bluegill, redear, crappie and catfish. . Walleye grow large enough in Brookville Lake so that the females can be milked for eggs, which are used to supply walleye fry to several lakes in Indiana. |
