Frentress Lake

Frentress Lake, located in the north west corner of Illinois within a few miles of Iowa and Wisconsin provides 24,580 acres of recreational waters fed by the Mississippi River. The shoreline has been preserved offering many fishing hotspots along the banks.

Fishing

Fentress Lake is home to a variety of fish species. Anglers will find hearty populations of largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie and bullheads here. This lake is an exceptional choice for those who enjoy fly fishing, bank fishing and / or boat fishing. The bass favor worms while the crappie enjoy grasshoppers and the bream are grub grabbers.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources Division of Fisheries offers "Hook-and-Line" and "Spear/Bow and Arrow" Sport Fishing Awards to recognize anglers for fish caught in Illinois' waters. (Click here for details.)
