Lake Oliver Lake Oliver is a 2,150-acre reservoir located downstream from Goat Rock Dam and Lake Harding. Georgia Power created this lake in 1959 with the Oliver Dam and Generating Plant on the Chattahoochee River. Lodging Standing Boy Creek State Park in Georgia was created in 2004, and it is available for swimming, boating, camping, hiking, and hunting just north of Columbus. Columbus, located at the southern end of the lake, provides the widest varity of accommodations along the Georgia side of this lake. Review the Lake Resource Guide for additional lodging. Communities Lake Oliver is located in Lee and Russell Counties in Alabama and in Muskogee County in Georgia. There are few towns close to the lake on the Georgia shores other than Columbus. Columbus offers the closest airport, and it is Georgia's fourth busiest airport. |
