Lake Blackshear Located on Georgia's Flint River, Lake Blackshear is a reservoir created by the Crisp County Power Dam. This dam also is known as the Warwick Dam, because it is located near Warwick. Completed in 1930, this lake offers area residents and visitors opportunities for fishing and other water-related recreational activities. With over 8,700 surface acres and 97 miles of shoreline, visitors can find camping, hiking, recreational facilities, beaches, and boat ramps. Lake Blackshear provided Crisp County with the first electrical power plant in the nation. Located near Cordele, the Watermelon Capital of the World, this lake and its resort offer a great venue for touring this part of the state. Lake Blackshear is the only impoundment on the Flint River, which flows south until it joins Lake Seminole near the Florida state line. Fishing |
