Lake Columbia The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) created 3,000-acre Lake Columbia by impounding Beech Creek about six miles from Magnolia. Boating AGFC provides three concrete boat ramps at Lake Columbia, and two of them include accessible boat docks and fishing piers for handicapped individuals. The lake, also, is divided into four zones. A small area is off-limits to unauthorized visitors. Pleasure boaters and water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the western half of the lake, while anglers have access to all but that unauthorized section. |
Lodging Logoly State Park, located near McNeil about 8 miles from Magnolia, provides six camp sites for tent campers. Two state parks are located about 40 miles north of Magnolia near Camden, but only White Oak Lake State Park has camping facilities. The Columbia County Rural Development Authority owns and manages the campground at Lake Columbia, and that facility offers water and electric hook-ups. An privately-owned RV rental location is near the lake. Several hotels also are located in Magnolia and in McNeil. Review the Lake Resource Guide for additional lodging. Communities Lake Conway is located entirely within Columbia County, Arkansas just five miles from Magnolia. Although Magnolia maintains a municipal airport, the closest major city with an airport is El Dorado at about 35 miles to the east. Another major airport is located in Texarkana, which is about 53 miles to the west. Other small towns in the region include McNeil, Waldo and Stamps. |
