Cane Creek Lake Cane Creek Lake was created by building a levee west of Bayou Bartholomew and then by damming Cane Creek, a tributary to that bayou. Managed by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC), the project was completed in 1987. Cane Creek State Park, which opened in 1992, provides the perfect backdrop to a lake that welcomes paddlers and small-engine boats. Visitors come to this lake mainly for bird watching, excellent fishing, mountain biking, and camping. Fishing |

Boating Boaters have access to this lake by three concrete boat ramps and two courtesy docks. Two ramps and one courtesy dock are located on the north shore, one near the confluence of the lake and Bayou Bartholomew. The other ramp and one courtesy dock are located on the south shore via Cane Creek Road to State Park Road. Two handicap-accessible fishing piers are close to the state park on the south side of the lake as well. Be aware that this lake is filled with extensive standing timber. While this timber provides wonderful fish habitat, it can wreck a large motor boat. A popular pastime on this lake is fishing from kayaks, and kayak lessons are available at the state park as well as kayak rentals. |
