Blue Mountain Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers impounded the Petit Jean River to create Blue Mountain Lake in 1947. With approximately 50 miles of shoreline and 2,880 surface acres, this lake offers plenty of room for fishing, boating, and swimming. Located between Mount Magazine -- Arkansas's highest mountain and the venue for this states newest state park -- and the Ouachita Mountains, the lake also offers plenty of hiking and camping possibilities.

The Blue Mountain Wildlife Demonstration Area is located at the west end of this lake, providing a world-class bird dog field trial area that attracts visitors from all over the world.

Fishing

Blue Mountain Lake is an excellent fishery that includes largemouth and white bass, bream, crappie, and catfish.
