Lake Oliver

Lake Oliver is a 2,150-acre reservoir located downstream from Goat Rock Dam and Lake Harding. Georgia Power created this lake in 1959 with the Oliver Dam and Generating Plant on the Chattahoochee River. Lake Oliver is wide at the southern end, but becomes almost riverine where it meets Goat Rock Dam upstream.

Fishing

Lake Oliver is on the Alabama-Georgia state line, and both shorelines are densely populated. Summer recreational sports crowd this lake during the summer, but the other three seasons are perfect for anglers who want to fish for bream and crappie, and smallmouth, striped, white, and largemouth bass.
