Review the Lake Resource Guide for additional lodging. Communities The Demopolis Lock and Dam is situated on the Tombigbee River in Marengo County, below the southern edge of the Wildlife Management Area. The lake itself is located in Marengo County near Demopolis. Demopolis lies within Webb's Bend at the confluence of the Black Warrior and Tombigbee rivers, and the city features white bluffs, theater, and a "Christmas on the River Festival." Pontoon and ski boats are often seen around the city landing, and pleasure boats fill slips at the local marina. Visitors also have access to two major cities -- Birmingham and Montgomery. Those cities have airports, and they both are located about two hours from the lake. |
