Aliceville Lake

Aliceville Lake is a reservoir that Alabama locals often call Pickensville Lake. This body of water is impounded by the Tom Bevill Lock and Dam, located one mile southwest of Pickensville and 50 miles west of Tuscaloosa on the state line. One third of this lake is located in Mississippi, and the dam and reservoir are one of four lock and dam structures situated on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway.

Fishing

Aliceville Lake has been popular for its largemouth bass and crappie populations since its development in 1980. Other fish species include catfish, redear sunfish, bluegill, and drum. A reciprocal agreement between Alabama and Mississippi states that sports fishing licenses from either state are recognized in most waters along the state lines. For those anglers fishing the Mississippi side of Aliceville Lake, the reciprocal agreement states that sport fishing licenses for either state are recognized from River Mile 322 to the Tom Bevill Lock and Dam.
