Aliceville Lake Aliceville Lake is a reservoir that Alabama locals often call Pickensville Lake. This body of water is impounded by the Tom Bevill Lock and Dam, located one mile southwest of Pickensville and 50 miles west of Tuscaloosa on the state line. One third of this lake is located in Mississippi, and the dam and reservoir are one of four lock and dam structures situated on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Fishing |

Lodging Carrollton and Aliceville both are located near the lake on the Alabama side, and they both offer lodging. Pickensville also provides camping. The lake is nowhere near a state park that might serve campers, either in Alabama or in Mississippi. However, lodging can be found in Columbus, Mississippi, which is only 25 miles from the lake. Review the Lake Resource Guide for additional lodging. Communities Located in Pickens County, Alabama and in Noxubee and Lowndes Counties in Mississippi, Aliceville Lake is flanked by Columbus, Mississippi to the west and Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the east. Although Tuscaloosa is twice the distance from the lake as Columbus, it is the larger town with a larger airport. I-59/20 is the closest interstate to this lake, and it is located south of Tuscaloosa.
